American Society of Civil Engineers, Nigeria International section started in Lagos Nigeria.
The ASCE Former Region 10 Governor and the First ASCE Nigeria Section President is Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Adeniyi Adeyemo, Ph.D. FASCE,FNSE, FNICE. Engr. Dr E. A Adeyemo was succeeded by Engr. Benjamin A. McDavid, P.E(2014/15) followed by Engr Tolulope O.S. Talabi(2015/16). The Former GM Statistics, Nigerian Ports Authority, Engr. T.O.S. Talabi was succeeded by Engr. Chief Oboh Blessing Tega (2016/17). Engr (Chief) Blessing was succeeded by Engr. S. A. Lawal(2017/18) who became the current Region 10 Governor. The current president of ASCE Nigeria International section is Engr. Ajose Otinwa with the Vice President(President Elect) Engr. Rasheed Hassan. The new Executive council members also include Engr. Austin Odibi, C.Eng -Financial Secretary,Engr. Obada A. Adedayo, C.Eng -General Secretary, Engr. Uzo Okoye, P.E. -Publicity Secretary, Engr. Alagbe Mosunrah Abimbola, P.E -Treasurer.

ASCE Nigeria Inaugurates 2016 Executive Council.
In the last quarterly meeting of December 2015, ASCE Nigeria section inaugurated her 2016 Executive Council
The new EXCO under the Presidency of Engr. Oboh Blessing Tega is very determined to set the section to the next level.

Furthermore, the Council has already started by setting up different committees, publishing quarterly newsletters, setting up many industrial visits and technical events,workshops and seminars for the year, including the inauguration of new State Chapters and Student Chapters .

Industrial Visits/Inspections
ASCE Nigeria section carries out several industrial visit and inspections across private and public sectors
American Society of Civil Engineers, Nigeria international section recently inspected the construction site at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Lagos.

The aim of the project is to receive much more ocean going vessels of any size directly from foreign waters. The Project being handled by Eco Support Services has some foreign contractors; Trevy and Codecco. The ASCE Nigeria reported that the project is a wonderful one and is being handled by very competent contractors.

Services Overview

NPA Extension Industrial Visit/Inspection ASCE Nigeria International Section on July 2013 paid an Industrial Visit to the new Nigeria Port Authority Extention construction site. The purpose of the new extension is to receive heavy ships of very high capacities into the Nigerian Lagos Sea port.

Inspection of Construction Sites ASCE Nigeria inspects a construction site. This visit amongst others is to help sanitize the practice of Civil Engineering and ensure that qualified Engineers are handling projects and also that quality services are delivered to the clients.

The “Introduce a girl to engineering” day
American Society of Civil Engineers, Nigeria International section partnered with The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) to organize The “Introduce a girl to engineering” day.

 

Inauguration of Student Chapters
ASCE Nigeria International Section recently inaugurated her student chapter at the Covenant University, Ogun State, Nigeria.
